William Hare U.A.E. LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of William Hare Group U.K. The parent company, formally incorporated in 1945, has traded successfully for over 50 years. It has grown steadily to become one of the leading steelwork contractors in Europe.
William Hare U.A.E LLC has offices and manufacturing locations based in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi and a smaller facility in Dubai. The company provides fully integrated fabricated structural steel services including design, CAD detailing, fabrication, painting and delivery to job sites. It operates in the major structural market sectors including oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals and power. William Hare UAE is pre-qualified by major oil and gas producers including ADNOC, ADCO and GASCO.
“From our office in Abu Dhabi we provide services to the rest of the gulf countries and the Middle East. Our turnover is about 40 million pounds a Year. We have grown over the last three years from a small engineering company to become one of the biggest structural steel facilities in the Middle East providing in excess of 40,000 tons of structural steel per year”, informs Terry A. Iggo, Managing Director. William Hare UAE has commenced a new business - EMDAD Steel UAE LLC, a steel stockist.
The workforce at William Hare, UAE is about 600, which includes outsourced personnel from Dulsco Abu Dhabi. Dulsco provides fabricators, riggers and semi-skilled workers. “We outsource and train them to our standard and keep employing those people whom we have trained,” says Lee Kirkman, Associate Director - Manufacturing.Suresh Srinivasan, Production Manager, went on a joint recruitment trip with Dulsco to Indian cities to recruit fabricators and riggers for William Hare UAE. “The contract was for one year but they have worked here for more than two years now. They work well and we are happy with them,” he says.
Complying with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at every stage, William Hare UAE has a system of safety checklists that is continually observed throughout the operation. It covers housekeeping, firefighting equipment, first aid equipment, protective clothing, electrical and machinery equipment safe keeping, chemicals, emergency lighting and exits. Dulsco personnel who are already well trained in HSE procedures, follow the HSE rules commendably when they work at William Hare UAE.
As part of its future plans, William Hare UAE intends to outsource one third of its workforce to Dulsco. “We will keep to that ratio but we will need more skilled erectors to build a team for future projects. Competent employees working with us are assured of a job for life,” says Ghulam Hanif, Finance and Adminstration Director.
