Deco Emirates is one of the leading interiors and contracting companies in the UAE, with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. “We have been very successful in the last five years in establishing Deco Emirates as a specialist shop-fitting/interiors company that DEPA, a major interiors group that specialises in hotels, yachts and the like, have taken over the company. Now we are in the top league of the industry with an ever-increasing portfolio,” says Hugh Bigley, General Manager of Deco Emirates.

In the long term Deco is looking to achieve global domination. “We want to be known around the world as Deco, the shop fitters from the UAE,” says Bigley. Most of the work the company does at present is shop fitting for major retail outlets-both stand alone as well as those in the malls-in the GCC, Middle East and India.

Deco has been judged as one of the best contractors in the region, mainly because of the high quality of its work and its attention to the minutest detail. Burberry, Lacoste and Marks&Spencer are some of the brands among many who have given certificates of appreciation to Deco for fitting out their retail outlets. Clients treat Deco like partners, not just contractors.

Deco in Dubai is relocating to new premises within Dubai Investments Park. “A new joinery workshop, steel fabrication factory for metal work and offices will be part of the new premises, and we will also centralise all our operations. However, the Abu Dhabi Projects Division will continue and will go on as before,” states Leslie Almeida, Sales Manager.

“We have a multinational workforce. Out of 230 workers, almost half are skilled. We continuously train our workers in the helper category to become skilled. Our workers have good living amenities provided to them. Some of our staff has worked with us for almost 25 years. They can advance their career within the company and are aptly rewarded,” says Miyanji Javeed, Contracts Manager, Abu Dhabi.

Javeed is impressed with the quality of both skilled and unskilled workers that Dulsco has been providing for Deco in the past year. He says, “We have never faced any hassle with Dulsco personnel. All of them are good workers and attendance is regular. They are dedicated and take their work seriously. We hope to continue working with Dulsco in the future too, as there will be continuous work coming up, with many new projects.”
