On 16th October 2007, the UAE's second and fourth largest banks (Emirates Bank and National Bank of Dubai) merged to create Emirates NBD.
Today, Emirates NBD is the largest banking group in the Middle East in terms of assets and has operations in the UAE, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Jersey (Channel Islands), and representative offices in India, Iran and Singapore.
Emirates NBD is a market leader across core business lines, and is the leading retail banking franchise in the UAE, with over 120 branches and more than 650 ATMs/Cash Deposit Machines spread across the country. “Our people are our biggest assets” remarks Preetham Nathan, Head-Group Staffing, Human Resources, Emirates Bank NBD. The group is proud to be the employer of over 9000 experienced professionals of which 1400 are UAE nationals, making Emirates NBD the largest recruiter of Emirati talent in the banking sector.
Eight years ago Emirates NBD approached Dulsco with the objective of using its services for the bank’s manpower needs. “Having studied the market we felt that Dulsco could be a great company to partner with for temporary staffing. Considering the size of our group, permanent recruitment would have meant it would take a long time for newly recruited staff to come on board, whereas a temporary hire seemed like a quick fix solution. That’s when we considered taking Dulsco’s services. We also wanted to partner with a legally authorized service provider and with a company that has been in the region for a longer period than we have. Dulsco has a track record of providing people when needed and looks after the people they provide.”
Preetham Nathan considers every employee who has joined the organization a valuable asset. “From the senior most gentleman to the most junior person in the organizational hierarchy, everyone contributes towards one goal: and that is customer satisfaction”, says Nathan, explaining the group’s value system. He foresees the future with Dulsco as being very positive. “As we grow from strength to strength, every positive association we have will also grow from strength to strength”, he concludes.
On asked whether Emirates NBD had any plans to engage any of Dulsco’s other services, Preetham Nathan suggested, “Waste Management is something we could consider.“ He showed his concern regarding the mounting amount of paper waste and the need to create a waste management program and environmental awareness among today’s office-workers.
